A "Kitchen Witch" sometimes called a cottage witch or Scandinavian kitchen witch doll, is a homemade doll that resembles a stereotypical witch that are displayed in residential kitchens as good luck charms to ward off bad spirits. Your food will never burn while the kitchen witch is watching over your bubbling pots and pans.
I found a recipe book at the Witch House museum titled, 'What Salem Dames Cooked in the 1900s' and that inspired me to create a handful of characters that were witches whose main purpose in my story was to bond and heal through cooking meals together. (meals that may or may not contain potent magic)
